Responsive Website Design

"What separates design from art is that design is meant to be… functional." Cameron Moll

Make a better first impression

Our clients have great ideas about what they want in a web site. Our designers turn those ideas into a vibrant web experience. The internet is delivered in various viewports: smartphones, tablets, and laptops/desktops. Responsive design is a strategy that re-formats each webpage to fit every device. The same webpage on your desktop computer can be structured to look correct on a mobile phone or tablet. This eliminates the need of routinely updating phone apps and multiple websites.

In November of last year, it was announced that mobile web browsing has officially overtaken traditional desktop viewing. More people are using their phone to find small businesses based on proximity or simply to look something up. People are also shopping online and using social media to stay connected to the world. In 2015, Google confirmed that more “searches” were conducted using a mobile device. In addition, Google has started placing higher rankings to website that are mobile ready. Responsive design is not just important; it is vital.

Project Methodology

Our design team works with the latest web and multimedia software to ensure your site delivers for you and your customers. Websites are be developed in ASP.NET or MVC using HTML5 markup and CSS3 style sheets for the layout. HTML and CSS will be validated by World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) which is the industry standard for web development best practices.

We start with an in-depth review of your industry, target audience and competition. NELiX will create a custom flowchart based on an existing presence or from feedback from initial design meetings. The flowchart not only helps clients prepare content but effectively outlines the complete infrastructure of the new project. Our team actively participates in the organization content and provides guidance on how to structure content to improve usability and search engine optimization. Once preproduction is finalized, a multi-step visual conception phase begins. With client feedback to fuel the process, the designs and content are forged into a prototype website.

Your project will be tested on all major modern browsers for both MAC and PC and on several mobile devices (phones, tablets with touch screen). We do make an effort to build your project to be compatible with legacy browsers. However, developers of the software that no longer support updates due to security reasons will not be addressed. This includes Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 or earlier.
